Why this role is important to us This is SimCorp's most senior compliance leadership role. As Head of Compliance, you will hold ultimate accountability for the company’s global compliance posture, shaping our compliance philosophy, owning our most significant regulatory relationships, and ensuring compliance operates as a forward-looking strategic capability rather than a reactive control function. You will lead an international team of compliance specialists spread across four countries, working in a highly skilled lean-team model where specialist knowledge delivers more value than hierarchical scale. The role entails significant strategic autonomy, and it is a people manager type of the position where you will have 12 people in your organization. It is organizationally reporting to the General Counsel, Head of Legal & Compliance, with direct access to Executive Management. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced senior compliance professional who wants to operate at the leading edge of technology-sector compliance - shaping how an innovative, globally growing fintech manages a genuinely complex and fast-evolving regulatory environment at the forefront of AI adoption. Our compliance landscape SimCorp's compliance obligations span a distinct and growing set of frameworks including: AI and IT regulation Data protection and privacy GDPR and data protection Market Abuse Criminal Offences, AML/TF and Sanctions Employee Compliance (COI, ABC & Whistleblowing) ESG Further client-driven compliance requirements What you will be responsible for Compliance Strategy & Framework Own SimCorp's global compliance strategy, framework, policy architecture, and governance structure. Lead the annual compliance risk assessment, define risk appetite. Identify and mitigate emerging risks across AI adoption, data regulation, and international growth. Advise senior leadership on client-driven compliance obligations, major contracts, and market entries. Regulatory Horizon Scanning Own regulatory horizon scanning across all relevant jurisdictions and lead SimCorp's response to emerging developments including the AI Act, data regulation, and ESG obligations. Engage with industry bodies to help shape regulation, and translate the regulatory pipeline into implications for product strategy and market entry. Team Leadership Provide strategic direction and skilled oversight to an international team of compliance specialists across 4 different locations. Manage the operating model, work allocation, and full line management responsibilities. Business Partnering Serve as SimCorp's internal compliance authority, partnering across Product, Sales, Services, and Operations. Provide compliance sign-off on new product launches, market entries, major contracts, and M&A transactions. Investigations & Escalation Lead the firm's response to significant compliance incidents, overseeing root cause analysis, remediation, and governance reporting. Compliance Culture Own the compliance culture agenda and design a training programme with measurable effectiveness. Act as a visible and credible compliance leader across SimCorp. What we value Regulatory & Compliance Expertise: Deep knowledge of the EU AI Act, DORA, GDPR, and the broader regulatory frameworks governing technology providers to the financial services industry, with a demonstrated ability to navigate complex and evolving regulatory environments with sound professional judgement. Strategic Compliance and People Leadership: Experience defining and owning multi-year compliance strategy, combined with experience leading lean, high-calibre compliance teams and building operating models that scale through expertise rather than headcount. Executive Communication and Stakeholder Management: Able to articulate complex compliance risks and strategic considerations clearly and with authority to C-suite leadership and governance bodies.
